DAVID LOEWY is a playwright, performer, and educator living in New York City. He is the recipient of an Edward Albee Foundation Writing Fellowship, a Steven Spielberg Fellowship in Theater Arts Education, and a Lowell Lebermann Excellence Endowment Grant. He is a founding company member of Storahtelling, a Jewish ritual theater company. He provides literary review for The Public Theater and the Jewish Plays Project in New York City. Recent works include: St. Augustine (Wordsmyth Theater Reading Series & Eugene O’Neill NPC semifinalist), …Honor Roll… (Jewish Playwrights Project TYA Award), and The Weston Women (Helford Prize winner). Loewy has studied dramatic writing with Karen Hartman, Heidi Schreck, Kara Lee Corthron, and Tim McCanlies. He is currently at work on a series of American history plays
